The Water Outlaws
In a world of corrupt officials and powerful artifacts, Lin Chong and a band of outcasts fight to protect the marginalized and challenge the Empire's tyranny from their sanctuary at Mount Liangshan.
Overview
Lin Chong, a master arms instructor for the Imperial Guard, leads a fight class for women in Bianliang, where she meets the powerful but uncontrolled Lu Da. After Lin Chong is falsely accused and sentenced to a work camp, Lu Da saves her from assassination and brings her to Mount Liangshan, a sanctuary for outcasts and rebels.
At Liangshan, Lin Chong proves her worth and is drawn into a heist to rob Cai Jing’s birthday gifts, a mission that ends with the death of the bandit leader, Wang Lun, and the rise of Chao Gai. The bandits, now under Chao Gai’s leadership, face increasing threats from the corrupt Chancellor Cai Jing, who is determined to destroy them and their sanctuary.
As the conflict escalates, Lin Chong and Wu Yong, the Tactician, undertake a daring mission to rescue scholars and sabotage Cai Jing’s research on god’s fangs, powerful and dangerous artifacts. Despite their best efforts, the bandits suffer heavy losses, including the death of Chao Gai, leading to a new leadership under Song Jiang and a final, desperate plan to attack Cai Jing directly.
In the climactic battle, Lin Chong and Lu Da confront Gao Qiu, whose uncontrolled power leads to a devastating explosion. The aftermath sees Lin Chong leading the bandits in their new role as protectors of the weak and avengers of the oppressed, as they continue to challenge the corrupt Empire.
